The Bloom Project is a special non-profit that I had the privilege of being a part of this year. The Bloom Project provides fresh floral bouquets to hospice and palliative care patients on a weekly basis. Flowers and vases are donated and re-designed by a 100% volunteer staff. Arrangements are then delivered by the volunteers to hospice, clergy, social workers to patients.
For the 1st annual fundraising luncheon in Portland, I was invited to design a floral piece based on the work of glass artist, Ann Cavanagh. You can see this stunning fused glass piece had many layers and textures.

My interpretation included layers of glass vases and colorful gladiola, dahlias, red twig dogwood, alstromeria and ilex to represent the look of the leaves.
It was a pleasure working off such a gorgeous piece by Ann. To see more of Ann's work or take a class : https://anncavanaughglass.wordpress.com/
